This number should not be used for appointments or prescription requests.

If you have severe problem such as difficulty breathing, chest pains or severe bleeding, then please call 999.   

GP Out of hours clinic

When you telephone out of hours, all cases are triaged and a decision made whether the caller requires contact with / advice given by a Doctor or to have their details forwarded to the GP out of hours service, which is responsible to the ABM Health Board.    

The GP Out of Hours Service operates an appointment based service from a separate section of the A & E department at Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot and Morriston Hospital. The Primecare team will either:           

  • Ask the patient to come to the Out Of Hours clinic for an appointment    
  • Make a house call to see the patient if deemed clinically necessary   
  • Arrange for the patient to pick up a prescription from the Hospital GP out of hours clinic

Alternatively, patients in need of general medical advise are advised to contact NHS Direct on 111.

Dental Out Of Hours Service

If you have have a regular dentist then you will hear this message on their out of hours answering service.  If they do not have an out of hours message or you do not have a regular dentist then please call the Emergency Dental Helpline on the following number for further help and advice 111
